After the Noronic Disaster in September of 1949 Fire laws were passed that doomed rest of the Steamships in service at that time, because could not qualify to the new regulations. They were all taken out of service in the few years that followed.
It is sad that even to this day in 2018, no service has been restored for the one and two day trips across Lake Ontario. The 26 mile crossing was perfect for a Hot Toronto Summer's Day.
